I spent some time at the AGS Centre today (Sunday 5 May, 2013). The woodland garden was looking particularly good with Trilliums and Erythroniums in full flower. So here are some views and plants that caught my eye:

Nearby, Rhododendron 'Wee Bee' was doing well in a shady trough.

The recently replanted European Bed was looking good as well. Many of the forms of Pulsatilla vulgaris planted there had gone over, but it has been a very late season and some of them were still looking good.

Meanwhile the other side of the garden was a hive of activity.  We had brought back a carload of plants from the East Anglia show (supplied by Pottertons and Aberconwy) which are eventually to be used to plant up the revamped Cotswold bed, In the short term, Kana Webster and her husband Jonathan are planting some of them in troughs to be used in the Society's display at the Malvern Show next week.  We will be there for four days and a display of troughs and containers will be used on all four days with our national show taking place on Saturday.

The Director was also busy cleaning the blanket weed out of the pond, ably assisted by one of our younger members - Benji, Kana and Jonathan's son.
