A winter trip Finale
To finish with I will leave you with some final shots of the garden and some of its plants, starting with another Tom Mitchell snowdrop called Galanthus 'Czech Nymphing'. The story goes that he was in a pub after discovering it and saw a poster for the Czech equivalent of our fly-fishing, which they call nymphing.
Unsure of the full name of these beautiful Adonis amurensis
but they sure do look gorgeous, something for the new borders at the Picton Garden.
Not quite reaching its full potential yet but I love the fresh foliage of young plants as they burst through the soil, quenching our thirst for interest at this time of year.
Anemone flaccida the Japanese wood anemone.
This lovely Japanese woodlander Pteridophyllum racemosum looked right at home here, in fact there were three of them. How anoying is that? We are still waiting to see if ours will return in the spring.
